Common Questions
Everything You Need to Know
What is the maximum component size DHANRAJ Engineering can machine?
Our SANCO SM-2000s double column machining centre has a table size of 2100 × 1000 mm and X-axis travel of 2200 mm. We can handle components up to approximately 2200 × 1200 mm in the machining envelope — making us suitable for components that standard machining centres simply cannot accommodate.
What types of components do you specialise in?
We specialise in large fabricated components, steel castings, machine bases, fabricated structures, and precision engineering parts. Our double column machining centre is specifically built for heavy, large-format components that require both capacity and rigidity.
Which industries do you serve?
We serve 13 industries: Machine Tool, Heavy Engineering, Defence, Railways, Earth Moving Equipment, Mining Equipment, Steel Plants, Power Generation, Industrial Machinery, Wind Energy, Oil & Gas, Material Handling, and Automation. Our large-envelope machining capability is relevant across all these heavy industry sectors.
What is a double column machining centre and why does it matter?
A double column machining centre uses two upright columns to support the spindle head — unlike a single-column (bridge or column) machining centre. This architecture provides significantly higher structural rigidity, which is essential for heavy metal removal on large, heavy workpieces. The rigidity means we can hold tight tolerances even under aggressive cutting conditions.
What CNC controller does your machine use?
Our SANCO SM-2000s is equipped with a Fanuc 18i-MB CNC controller with Data Servo Mould Package software. Fanuc is one of the most trusted CNC controller brands globally, providing reliable and precise machine control.
Do you do both batch production and one-off prototype work?
Yes. We offer both batch production for repeat component requirements and single-piece or prototype machining for new component development and design validation. Our process discipline applies equally to both — drawing study, fixture planning, CNC programming, machining and inspection.
Where are you located?
We are located at J-Block, MIDC Bhosari, Pune 411026 — in Maharashtra's industrial corridor. Our location within MIDC Bhosari places us in close proximity to a wide range of heavy engineering and manufacturing customers.
Do you provide inspection reports with deliveries?
Yes. Every component is inspected and verified against drawing tolerances before dispatch. Dimensional inspection documentation is provided with every delivery. Our six-stage manufacturing workflow includes inspection and verification as a mandatory step before dispatch.
What is your angular head machining capability?
Our SANCO SM-2000s is equipped with a manual angular milling head attachment. This enables machining of features on inclined and perpendicular faces without repositioning the component — reducing setup count, lead time and positional error between features on different faces.
